Options for cabinet without separate finished end
We are remodeling a 5×8 bathroom where space is very limited. Any recommendations on how to finish visible cabinet sides without losing an extra 3/4″ with a finished end? The configuration would be a tall 15×15 linen cabinet next to a 24×22 vanity, with the side of the vanity visible next to the toilet area. We would be using a “no toe kick” configuration with separate wooden feet.
Assuming it’s not possible to custom order a cabinet with a finished side panel, it seems the simplest option would be to plan for a painted finish and fill the construction holes on the visible sides. I’m reasonably confident I can achieve a decent result with putty and some build up with BIN primer, followed by the same top coat that we’d use for all of the door fronts.
Just wanted to check and see if anyone has done this or has other suggestions.
