End panel dimensions
What should the dimensions of an end panel be, should it be the same dimension as the side of the cabinet or a bit more? For example, would a 12×30 upper cabinet end panel be 12×30 or maybe 12.75×30? For a base cabinet allowing room for moulding under the panel, would the panel be 24×30.5 or 24.75×30.5? Or something else? Thanks

Technically, the cabinet end panel can be ordered either way. However, we recommend ordering the finished end panel 5/8″ deeper than the cabinet case it is attached to. This allows the edge of the cabinet doors to be covered, creating a more integrated and finished appearance. As for wall cabinets, the finished end panel should always be ordered at the same height as the cabinet it is attached to.
For base cabinets, the finished end panel can be ordered 4″ shorter than the cabinet case, provided the base cabinet has an integrated 4″ tall toe kick. This prevents the end panel from extending down to the floor at the toe-kick area. While full-height end panels are acceptable, it is generally easier—and reduces toe-stubbing hazards—to raise the finished end panel 4″ off the floor and wrap the toe kick and toe skin around the side and into the back wall.
Both approaches are acceptable; however, this 4″ elevation method is the approach I personally use for base cabinet finished end panels.
