Bi-fold Doors
Hi Chad and Team,
I’m considering to make my pantry wide and simple, but the door opening occupies too much space. I think it should be easy to make bi-fold doors by ordering some panels from BarkerDoors.com, kind of like the doors for the corner cabinets. but I’ve never done it before. Can you suggest what kind of hardware I need to order? And any tips for the panel size, hardware mounting, etc.? Or maybe there is already a video for it?

The main issue with bi-fold doors is their weight and the way the hinges operate. I haven’t built bi-fold doors for any recent projects, so I don’t have any current hardware recommendations.
In the past, we used piano hinges, but that’s not a feasible option today—they offer no adjustability and no spring mechanism to keep the doors closed, so I wouldn’t recommend them.
Blum does make a bi-fold hinge for a base 90° cabinet, but it won’t work in your case since it requires the doors to rest at 90°, not at 0° (flat), as you’re requesting. I reviewed their catalog and unfortunately couldn’t find any hardware suitable for your application.

I’m looking at doing the same to act as an appliance garage to hide the air fryer. The Hafele pocket door system seems to be best suited for this application.
