21-5/8 x 38-1/2 no lites glass door in cherry Tamarack
Replacing two dual existing inset panel doors with this glass door. Also will be removing the rear cabinet inset panel (no door) on the same cabinet and on a second cabinet that already has a glass door front. End result is two see thru glass door cabinets between kitchen and dining room with a series of see thru glass bridge cabinets connecting them. Here are my questions:
1) Will a cherry wood sample (natural clearcoat & Tamarack/clear coat) be a relatively newer finished sample or an older finished sample that has darkened?
If Tamarack is not a match do you advise against exposing a clearcoat natural finish to sun outside to speed up aging color?
2) What Blum hinges would you recommend for these larger glass doors? Will two hinges suffice?
3) As these doors are just a frame is it possible to have only heartwood on both outside & inside of stiles/rails? Existing 20 yr old cabinets are reddish
brown with no white sap wood on all exterior faces. Stiles and rails are mostly darker shade with some lighter shades but nowhite spwood.
4) As these are see thru doors do you have any suggestions for decorative glass retention system ? ex: silicone then pin nail wood molding.
Can you provide me with the dimensions of the rabbit depth and width for the glass? Thanks, Mike
