Starting backward from depth of existing vanity top. We picked up an uninstalled custom Silestone top with undermount sink at the local Habitat ReStore. Measurements of top are 46.75 x 22.25, no cornered square. I am already a Chief Architect user, and am loving that I can build out my cabinets right in the app. As I need to place my vanity order as soon as possible, I need to know how deep my cabinets should be to look correct in front with my vanity top? This then begs the question of the depth of the finished end panel and the filler that will go against the wall. I have a couple more questions, but let’s see how speedily this posting gets addressed…
Thanks in advance!

The cabinet depth does not include the cabinet doors, which are approximately 13/16″ thick. There will be a small gap on the hinged side, while the opposite side will close tightly against the cabinet face. This level of precision is probably a bit of overkill, but worth noting.
Most countertop installers and fabricators prefer to maintain a ¾” to 1″ overhang beyond the face of the cabinet doors, as well as a similar ¾” projection past the face of any finished end panel. While some countertops are installed flush with the door faces, that approach generally doesn’t look as clean or intentional.
