I need to add screws in several places. What size bit should I use to predrill for the cabinet screws?

For the confirmat screw (the bolt that is used to assemble the cabinet cases)? 5mm diameter into the side of the horizontal part and 7mm into the face of the vertical panel.
If you are modifying the cabinet and need new screw holes, then use a 3” long installation screw with a standard pre drill in a few locations along the length of the panel. That should hold firmly without any issues.
