We are about ti buy a house and we want to do a kitten and bath remodel in budget. I am just wondering if you guys do custom cabinets or you have those prefab/pre made cabinets which can be picked up and installed . I did this 6 years back with a shop name quality kitchen cabinets and they usually have fixed size and color of cabinets. we pick up what suits us . it was fine for us for that time but looking to see what you guys offer.

We are fully custom, made-to-order, so we do not stock any prebuilt cabinets. Every cabinet is built specifically for your order, at fully custom sizes, using the exact wood type and finish you select.

Most companies only offer painted finishes and do not disclose the wood species underneath. With us, you can choose the actual wood species and then select any finish to be applied over it. For example, some customers order rift white oak and have it painted white so the grain texture subtly shows through. That is absolutely possible, although it is a more expensive way to achieve that look.

We offer two primary cabinet lines: barkercabinets.com and citycabinets.com.

Barker Cabinets is our premium line, primarily sourced and manufactured in the USA. We use plywood produced in Oregon, near our factory just outside Portland. The supply chain is extremely short, as the trees are literally grown in our region. Barker Cabinets uses the best available components regardless of cost, including premium plywood, slides, hinges, doors, and finishes.

City Cabinets is our value-optimized line, focused on delivering the best performance for the price. For this line, we source materials globally. The plywood is manufactured in Vietnam to our exact specifications, and the drawer box material is rubberwood sourced from Indonesia and Vietnam. We worked directly with overseas mills to engineer the materials and imported full containers built to our standards. The result is the lowest possible price while still delivering a high-end cabinet product.

We do not offer quotes via email or perform takeoffs from plans, as design and order assistance are not factored into the pricing of our cabinets. All ordering functions, including placing the actual order, are handled directly through the website.

              Design Assistance
We can certainly offer guidance via our forums or by email if you have specific questions. However, we do not provide full kitchen designs using our custom cabinets.

Many companies advertise a “free design,” but that time is simply built into the cost of the cabinets. When these companies are using in-stock cabinets offered only in fixed 3″ increments, the “design” is often just a list of the cabinet sizes they carry that may or may not fit your space well, so there is no real “value” there.

With us, the cabinets are fully custom. You can certainly choose to design in simple 3″ increments if you prefer to keep things straightforward, but most customers move away from that rigid structure. Instead, they maximize storage space while minimizing fillers by adjusting cabinet widths as needed.

Our goal is to keep costs down. By eliminating design services, assembly, and the shipping of fully assembled cabinets, we keep unnecessary costs out of the price. This allows the majority of your money to go directly into the cabinet components themselves—higher-quality plywood, premium hardware, and the legit skilled labor required to manufacture each component of the cabinets.
