The answer is “maybe.” It completely depends on how busy the local terminal is. Here in Oregon, for example, the terminal is likely not nearly as busy as one in Manhattan or Washington, D.C. Some terminals will hold pallets for a few days without issue, while others are extremely strict and will start charging significant fees to store the shipment (these fees are not covered under our free shipping and would be the customer’s responsibility).
The best approach is to schedule the order to ship after a specific date so it arrives when you’re ready to receive it with minimal delay. Carriers typically contact you about a week or less in advance to schedule delivery, and they’re very reliable about doing this.
