With regard to shipping by freight, does the freight company call to schedule delivery with us, and if so, do they typically have the ability to hold the shipment for 3 – 5 days if we are out of town when they are ready to deliver?

The answer is “maybe.” It completely depends on how busy the local terminal is. Here in Oregon, for example, the terminal is likely not nearly as busy as one in Manhattan or Washington, D.C. Some terminals will hold pallets for a few days without issue, while others are extremely strict and will start charging significant fees to store the shipment (these fees are not covered under our free shipping and would be the customer’s responsibility).

The best approach is to schedule the order to ship after a specific date so it arrives when you’re ready to receive it with minimal delay. Carriers typically contact you about a week or less in advance to schedule delivery, and they’re very reliable about doing this.

Chad – Thanks for having this forum – your answers are always extremely helpful. Looking forward to submitting our order very soon. We’re confident we’ll love this new kitchen in our new home as much as we loved the last one we did through you.
