We are looking at building in a wall of tall cabinets to serve as a closet in our bedroom. We have looked at both the City Cabinet and Barker lines, and think we want to go with Barker. The wall is 19’11” long and the ceiling height is 95″. The design we have come up with is six (6) 36″ wide cabinets and one (1) 18″ cabinet so the doors have a uniform look. That leaves about 2.5″ of filler on either end. I have the following questions:
1. We are going with the max height cabinet of 84″. I assume that height includes the toe kick, is that correct? If we chose the “no toe kick” option, does the inside of the box effectively get bigger by 4″, i.e. does the cabinet height stay 84″ tall? If we went no toe tick, we would have our contractor build a base on the floor to elevate the cabinets and carry the baseboard molding from the rest of the room across the front of that base.
2. On the City Cabinet site, you offer a 6″ flush mount toe kick, but that is not available on the Barker order form. Can it be done withe barker cabinets?
3. We are not going to run crown molding in this room, but we do want a flat “crown” to cover the gap between the top of the cabinet and the ceiling. This would have to be about 6-8″ wide. Do you have something like that? Our contractor could always get a piece of stock to use, but then we are left painting it.
4. On the Wardrobe style cabinet, there is a hanging rod. It looks like the rod is inserted through a pre-drilled hole. What is the height of the rod placement, and is that adjustable? Alternatively, can we have the cabinet not drilled for thee rod, but the rod still provided?
Thanks for your help.

1. Yes, the cabinet height always includes the toe kick. If you select No Toe Kick, the cabinet will sit directly on the floor. If you plan to use leveling legs and order without a toe kick, be sure to reduce the cabinet height by the height of the leveling legs. The same applies if you are using a base platform, since the platform can be leveled prior to cabinet installation. This is a very effective way to create a solid, level foundation for closet cabinetry.
2. The 6 inch height increments in the City line are new and still somewhat in a beta phase. We tend to push the limits with the City line. At this time, this option is not available on Barker, but we can make arrangements by adding a modification in the order notes at checkout. Please contact customer service for exact instructions on requesting this change before placing your order.
3. Yes, we do offer a flat crown molding. You can view it here:

We install them in a default position near the top of the cabinet, approximately 3 inches down from the top. After installation, you can easily lower the rod as needed with minimal effort.
