We don’t offer a full, comprehensive design or design review — and there’s a good reason for that.

Other “cabinet companies” may advertise a free design service, but those are typically based on off-the-shelf products with very limited customization. There’s not much real design work involved when the cabinets come only in fixed sizes. Our approach is different — because our cabinets are fully custom, we can fine-tune dimensions to fit corners, tight spaces, and maximize storage where other brands would simply fill gaps with oversized fillers.

Many customers will start with one of those “free designs” just to get a baseline, then use it as a template to build their order with us — adjusting cabinet widths and layouts to take advantage of our custom sizing. That’s actually a smart approach and works perfectly fine.

We also provide a full library of tutorial videos that explain proper, professional cabinet design techniques used by industry experts. You’ll find these videos under the Design category on each of our product line websites.

We’ve chosen not to provide individual design services because those tutorials cover everything you need — and this approach keeps our overhead low. Instead of paying for a team of designers, we pass those savings directly to our customers. Our model is simple:

You handle the design (with our guidance and resources)

You assemble the cabinets on site — a quick and straightforward process

You install them yourself or hire a local subcontractor

This lets you put more of your budget into what really matters — the cabinets themselves — rather than inflated design or assembly fees. In short, you get the highest quality for the lowest possible price.

If you have specific layout questions or need help with certain details, I’d be happy to provide tutorials or diagrams to walk you through the process.

That said, cabinet layout is very straightforward. As long as you follow the Three Rules of Cabinet Layout, your project will turn out great:

          Three Rules of Cabinet Layout

          1. Finished Ends
Apply finished ends to any visible sides at the end of a cabinet run. These cover screw holes and fasteners, giving the cabinets a clean, professional appearance.

          2. Fillers
Always use fillers between the cabinet run and the wall. A minimum 2″ filler allows for walls that aren’t perfectly square and ensures doors and drawers open freely without rubbing.

          3. Toe Skins & Crown Molding
Toe skins cover the front of the toe-kick area, making a run of cabinets look like one seamless unit. Crown molding and other decorative millwork can be added to complete the design and elevate the overall look.

A bit of a rant, maybe — but valuable info for anyone getting started with custom cabinetry.
