  • Tall corner 45 wall cabinet

I am looking at the 45-corner wall cabinet that will have 60″ cabinets either side. I cannot locate where I can get a 45-corner cabinet with 12″ returns above 48″. I was going to put in a 45-corner cabinet 44″ tall installed even with the top of the 60″ cabinets either side. That would leave 16″ open below the cabinet that I was going to build a niche out of end panels. I was going to put finished ends on the bottom of the wall cabinets on either side of the 45-wall cabinet to cover the gray laminate. Are the finished end panels laminated on all 4 sides (not top and bottom of the panel)? Or on the bottom of the niche will I have to put in 2 finished ends on the bottom of the cabinet to have both sides finished?

On the Modern line, to order a 60″ tall 45-degree wall cabinet, you would need to order it at the current maximum height of 48″, then request that the height be changed to 60″ in the order notes at checkout on the credit card screen.

We will make the change on the back end. Any additional charge for the increased height would be calculated during the pre-production review and emailed to you separately.

Chad’s tip about requesting the 60″ height in the order notes sounds like the simpler route, since you’d skip the niche and have no gray laminate showing.

If you still go with the niche, I’d confirm whether the finished end panels are finished on both faces. Many are only finished on the show side, so you might need two panels back to back for the niche bottom.

Thanks, if I decide to build the niche in this situation, does the end panels come with a finish on 4 sides (front, back, and ends)?

Wall and base cabinet finished ends are fully enclosed, with edge banding that matches the face material and finish. Tall cabinet finished ends, however, do not have edge banding on the top or bottom edges.
