If I use a flip up wall cabinet setting on a countertop to use as an appliance cabinet, is there any reason I should have to use the base panel of the cabinet and just set the cabinet directly on the countertop?

Sure. For a flip-up cabinet, the bottom reveal will be approximately 1/8″. Since the door does not swing outward and instead lifts up, you should be fine installing the cabinet directly on top of the countertop.

Regular hinged door cabinets are different. For wall cabinets with doors that swing left or right, a larger bottom reveal is needed. With the standard 1/8″ bottom reveal, hinge adjustments can occasionally cause the bottom edge of the door to rub against the countertop.

For those applications, the bottom reveal would need to be increased, or a different cabinet/product would need to be used.

For the flip-up cabinet, however, the standard 1/8″ reveal is fine.

Does your answer also the same for Barker Modern Cabinets?
