  • Creating Open Shelving and Range Alcove

I am leaning heavily towards using Barker Cabinets throughout our new home build. I am becoming more familiar with how to piece the different cabinets together to create a look we are after. The tutorials and videos that Chad has put together have been great at the learning process.

One thing that I have not quite figured out is how to create open shelving over a space. Think a wet bar with cabinets on either end and a shelf spanning the 6 to 8 feet in between.

Another question I have is how to create a range alcove with a pull-out rack on either side of the range top.

I do have concepts sketched out on my computer that I could shave if that would help answer my questions.

Sure. We do carry exposed and open-shelf wall cabinet options here:

    Nice drawings, by the way.

Currently, we do not offer a pullout spice rack in a wall-cabinet format. The easiest option would be to order a standard wall cabinet and then add the spice rack of your choice on site during installation.

If needed, we can also modify the cabinet so the doors are not drilled for hinges. That would simply require an order note at checkout requesting the modification, but it is not a difficult change for us to make.
