Hello, I am laying out my cabinets.

I have a 24″ deep stacked “pantry” made of a base cabinet with a wall cabinet atop.
It is one end of the cabinetry run. I marked this in pink. I show side panels on each side of the stacked pantry.

To the right of the pantry is a base appliance case for a dishwasher. I marked this in green.

To the right of the pantry, on the wall, is a shallower cabinet. I marked this in blue.

Both the pantry door and the wall cabinet door have left-hand hinges.

I show a side panel for the shallower wall cabinet abutting the pantry side panel, to give the shallower cabinet door swing room.

The base appliance case abuts the pantry side panel. I wasn’t sure a partial pantry side panel ending atop the base appliance case would look right.

My contractor recommended your products, but has me specifying the components.
Can you tell me if I’ve arranged the cabinet side panels as you designed them to be used?

        Thank you,
        Maggie

Sure, for that pantry stack, we typically build them at 26″ deep rather than 24″. Using 24″ often creates too many visible seams where the pantry stack meets the base appliance cabinet, so the extra depth helps create a cleaner visual transition with natural step-backs.

It’s perfectly fine for the wall cabinet to butt directly against the finished end panel of the pantry without adding another finished side panel. The zero-protrusion hinges we use are designed specifically for this type of installation, allowing wall cabinets to sit flush against a tall finished panel without interference.

Your base appliance cabinet is important to keep, as it supports the countertop where it meets the pantry’s tall end panel. It also provides space for a small filler, which helps fine-tune alignment with the appliance you plan to install there (likely a dishwasher).

Don’t worry about aligning the wall cabinet and base appliance cabinet perfectly in a vertical line — they’re far enough apart that any offset won’t be noticeable or distracting.
