Base 90 cabinets have a unique hinge design, utilizing a bi-fold door where the two panels connect in the middle. This specialized hinge, combined with the tight reveals in our cabinets, can sometimes result in very precise tolerances that may require door width adjustments to prevent rubbing. Both Barker and City use a tight 1/8″ reveal between doors, creating a seamless, high-end appearance. However, achieving this level of precision requires various adjustments to ensure perfect alignment.

This design results in an elegant finished product that is difficult to replicate with cheaper, more conservative cabinet brands. Most other brands increase their reveals to 1/4″ gaps or larger to eliminate the challenges of tight tolerances. By doing so, they often need to modify cabinet doors after installation. In contrast, we build everything from scratch and push the limits to achieve the flattest, tightest reveals possible. While this can create installation challenges, the end result is a flawless, high-end look.

Base 90 and Base 45 doors can be tricky to adjust and align smoothly in corner transitions. For your project, we are remaking the doors about 1/8″ narrower on each side of the 90-degree transition. This should resolve the issue and provide a bit more wiggle room for a perfect fit.
